Sintra est une ville nichée entre mer et montagne, près de Lisbonne au Portugal. Idéalement située, la ville bénéficie d'une végétation luxuriante grâce à un climat particulièrement doux. Les souverains portugais aimaient y séjourner et y ont construit de beaux bâtiments royaux. Ainsi, à Sintra on peut admirer deux palais, un château maure et plusieurs «quintas» (manoirs). Tous ces trésors architecturaux ont valu à la ville d'être classée au Patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO en 1995.
Sintra is a town nestled between mountains and sea, near Lisbon in Portugal.
Ideally located, the city has lush vegetation with a particularly mild climate. The Portuguese sovereigns liked to stay there and have built beautiful royal buildings in Sintra. In the city, we can see two palaces, a Moorish castle and several "Quintas" (mansions). All these architectural treasures have earned the city to be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage since 1995.
