Il était l'héritier du trône impérial russe, et le plus jeune enfant, et seul fils, de l'Empereur Nicolas II de Russie et l'impératrice Alexandra Feodorovna. Après la Révolution russe de Février 1917, lui et sa famille ont été envoyé en exil en Sibérie. Toute la famille (lui, ses parents, quatre soeurs et trois serviteurs) a été assassinée par ordre du gouvernement bolchevique, le 17 Juillet 1918 à Ekaterinbourg. Il avait 13 ans. Toutes les personnes exécutées ont été canonisés par l'Eglise orthodoxe russe en 1998.
An old postcard showing Tsesarevich Alexei Nikolaevich Romanov (Russian: Алексе́й Никола́евич Рома́нов). Tsesarevich Alexis was born in 1904. He was heir apparent of the Imperial Russian throne, and the youngest child and only son of Russian Emperor Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra Feodorovna. After the February Revolution of 1917, he and his family were sent into internal exile in Siberia. All the family ( he, his parents, four sisters, and three retainers) was murdered by order of the Bolshevik government, on July 17th 1918 in Yekaterinburg. He was 13. All of those executed were canonized as passion bearers by the Russian Orthodox Church in 1998.
