Le Château de Kronborg

Voici une carte d'un site inscrit au patrimoine mondial par l'UNESCO en 2000 : le château de Kronborg au Danemark.

Ce château se situe près d'Elseneur (Helsingør en danois) sur un site stratégique face à la Suède sur les bord de l'Øresund (l'entrée de la mer Baltique). Avec la forteresse d’Helsingborg, située de l'autre coté, il permettait aux Danois de contrôler l’accès à la mer Baltique. Cet exceptionnel château Renaissance a été construit à partir de 1574, puis rénové au XVIIè siècle sur un modèle architectural militaire de l'époque. Il est demeuré intact jusqu'à nos jours.

Il est aussi mondialement connu comme étant le cadre de la tragédie "Hamlet" de Shakespeare, qui se situe au Château d'Elseneur.

This castle is located near Elsinore (Helsingør in Danish), on a strategic site opposite to Sweden on the Øresund (the entrance to the Baltic Sea). With the fortress of Helsingborg, on the opposite side, it allowed the Danish to control the access to the Baltic Sea. This outstanding Renaissance castle was built from 1574, and renovated in the seventeenth century on a military architectural model of those days. It remained intact until today.

It's also worldwide known, because it is where the tragedy "Hamlet", by Shakespeare, takes place.
