Chişinău ou Kichinev (avant 1991), est la capitale et la plus importante ville de Moldavie. C’est également son principal centre industriel et commercial. Elle est située dans le centre du pays, sur la rivière Bic. La population de la ville est de 592.900 habitants, voir 1,3 millions si on compte l’agglomération.
