Le liriodendron ou Tulip tree ou Yellow poplar (peuplier jaune) en anglais, est l'arbre symbol de l'Etat de l'Indiana aux Etats-Unis. Il fut adopté comme arbre d'état par un décret de l'assemblée générale de l'Indiana le 3 mars 1931. C'est un arbre majeur des forêts de l'Indiana. Il peut atteindre 32 m de haut. Ses feuilles ont une forme particulière et son bois est utilisé dans la fabrication de meubles.
The Tulip tree or yellow poplar, is the State tree of Indiana in the United States. It was adopted as the state tree by an act of the Indiana General assembly on March 3, 1931. This is a major tree in the forests of Indiana. It can reach 32 m high. Its leaves have a particular form and its wood is used in furniture making.
