Mesa Verde National Park

Le parc national de Mesa Verde (Plateau vert en espagnol) se situe dans l’état du Colorado aux Etats-Unis. Cette région était, entre les VIe et XIVe siècles, la terre des amérindiens Anasazis, ancêtres des Pueblos, qui y construisirent des habitations troglodytiques sous les falaises du canyon, ou des habitations semi-enterrées. Les bâtiments ont entre 700 et 1400 ans. Chaque village avait une fonction propre : agriculture, artisanat, religion….
La région est devenue parc national en 1906 et est inscrite au Patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO depuis 1978.

Mesa Verde National Park is located in the state of Colorado in the United States. This region was between the sixth and fourteenth centuries, the land of Native American Anasazi, ancestors of the Pueblos, who built the cliff dwellings in the cliffs of the canyon, or semi-subterranean houses. The buildings are between 700 and 1400 years. Each village had a specific function: agriculture, handicrafts, religion ....
The region became a national park in 1906 and declared World Heritage by UNESCO since 1978.
