Porto Santo est une île portugaise d'origine volcanique située dans l'Océan Atlantique au large du Maroc. C'est la deuxième île habitée de l'archipel de Madère, située à cinquante kilomètres au nord-est de l'île principale. Porto Santo est également surnommée « L'île Dorée » (en portugais : Ilha Dourada) en raison de la couleur désertique de ses paysages et de sa longue plage de sable dorée. L'île compte environ 5 500 habitants. La ville principale est Vila Baleira.
Porto Santo is a Portuguese island of volcanic origin located in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Morocco. This is the second inhabited island in the archipelago of Madeira, located fifty miles northeast of the main island. Porto Santo is also known as the "Golden Island" (in Portuguese: Ilha Dourada) because of the color of desert scenery and its long golden sandy beach. The island has about 5,500 inhabitants. The main town is Vila Baleira.
